Little League Baseball
Little League Baseball is an organization that offers young people the opportunity to learn how to play baseball. It is a non-profit organization and it has members throughout the United States, as well as some other countries in the world. Little League Baseball also manages the development of softball. All boys and girls are allowed to join the league. The league is divided into several Little League Baseball teams, including Tee Ball, Minors, Majors, Junior, Senior, and Big.
Tee Ball is for children aged 5-6 years old, who want to start learning baseball. The Minors are kids aged 7-12 years old, but some leagues will allow children above 6 years old to join. Then there are the Majors, which is the division for those who are 11 to 12 years old. Some leagues take kids aged 9 to 10 for the Majors. Junior team is meant for kids aged 13 to 14 years old, and the Senior team consists of 15 and 16 years old kids. The Big division is for teenagers aged 17 and 18 years old. Other than these divisions, there is another one, the Challenger Division, which is created to teach children with disabilities to play baseball.
The idea of Little League Baseballs was created by Carl Stotz in 1939. The league started with a small number of teams but it has millions of members around the world now. All the players have to follow the rules and regulations of Little League Baseball and ethics as required by the organization.
The baseball field dimension for Little League varies, depending on which age group the players belong to. For 12 years old and younger, it is advisable to use the 60 feet distance between base-paths. The Tee Ball divisions usually use a 50 feet diamond. The Little League Baseball field dimensions have to be fitted to the players’ abilities. For 13 years old and older, they can use the 90 feet diamond. There are still many categories regarding the Little League Baseball field size, which might be different during the regular season play, Little League Baseball practice, or Little League Baseball tournaments.
