High School Baseball Rules
High school baseball rules are different from other official rules. The one organization who governs the baseball rules in high school is NFHS or National Federation of High School Associations. This organization does not only have a baseball department, but also other sport activities.
The high school baseball regulations are updated regularly, for many reasons, including the safety precautions for all players. Everybody can read the official high school baseball rules from the high school baseball rule book that is given out by the NFHS to all the high schools with baseball teams in the country.
This year in 2007, the NHFS has made the 2007 high school baseball rules. Usually, each year the organization reviews on how the rules should be interpreted by the high school teams. If necessary, this organization will make some adjustments to the current rules and regulations. In order to make the rules clearly understandable, NFHS also creates a document that is called ‘baseball rules interpretation’, which describes certain situation where the official rule will apply.
The rules can be applied in pretty much all situations that might happen during the game. Furthermore, there are regulations on the equipments too. As a safety measurement, NFHS has to create high school baseball rules and regulations to make sure that the high school baseball players wear the suitable equipments which match with their age group and abilities. So when you read the rules from NFHS, you will read some regulations like the high school baseball bat regulations, facial protection regulations, head protection regulations, and many more.
The official rules are only made by National Federation of State High School Associations or NFHS. But, as an addition, usually each high school across the country has its own rules as well. So if one day you recognize different rules from California high school baseball rules to Alabama high school baseball rules, you should not be surprised. Other examples of regional high school rules are Illinois high school baseball rules, Mississippi high school baseball rules, Ohio high school baseball rules, and others.
Every high school baseball player is required to follow the rules, both the official rules and their high school baseball rules. Otherwise, there would be some consequences, which are usually ruled by the high schools. Whatever differences in the rules, the basic approach to the game is still the same, and if a player knows the basics of the game, he can play baseball just about anywhere he goes.
